Mamquam River Access Society (MRAS) is non-profit organization, which operates the Mamquam River Campground.
Non-profit/Not-for-profit means a volunteer Board of Directors, and all money earned beyond wages and operations goes towards building and improving the service. The campground opened in 2017 and there’s still lots to do.
$10/night walk in site.
$20/night drive in site.
Each site includes 1 car. And 3 adults, or 2 adults + children.

THERE IS NO water or electricity!
NO WATER = no taps, no showers.
No potable and no non-potable water.
BRING YOUR OWN water to drink, cook with, clean with, and wash with.
Potable drinking water is available at nearby Brennan Park Community Center (600 meters away) at Loggers Lane and Centennial. While we are adjacent to a river, Vancouver Coastal Health doesn't allow drinking local river water.
No electricity. No generators to be used May 1- Sept 30th.
No RV sani dump facilities. Check Alice Lake and Klahanie campgrounds.
You must book and pay on our website. We sell-out weekends all summer, please book ahead.
Here's how to book:
- Go to our website mamquamrivercampground.ca and review the information.
- To book click ‘Book Now’ (which redirects you to our booking website: https://mamquamrivercampgrou.checkfront.com/reserve/ )
- Select your Category eg. Camping or Groups
- Pick your dates on the calendar
- Choose your desired selection eg. Drive-In Campsite or Walk-In
- If it says ‘Available’ you can book it
- If it says ‘Fully Booked’ - we’re full for that selection on that date
- Select your number of campers
- Follow the prompts to complete your booking
- Please review the Waiver of Liability, and tick the box
- Please review the Camper Expectations, and tick the box
- And Please review The Terms of Service
- You must pay online (credit or debit card please)
- 72 hour cancellation policy - a 20% non-refundable fee applies to sites
There is a 72 hour cancellation policy for campsites- a 20% refund fee applies. Eg. A Friday booking must be cancelled by Tuesday to receive your 80% refund.
Group sites policy: 2 weeks' or more notice is a 20% refund fee.
1 week's notice is a 50% refund fee.
Yes - We have very limited $10 cash VanLife parking in the main campground when sites are full - usually on weekends. First come first served from 3-9 pm - no reservations ahead of time. You must be in a self contained vehicle.
We have limited $10 cash weekday camping for vehicles and tents in the overflow parking lot in The Dirtbag Zone. Use the envelopes in the mailbox behind the Overflow Parking sign to pay.
Check in is from 3 - 9 pm.

We discourage late arrivals as your vehicle and headlights affect other users.
Email info@mamquamrivercampground.ca to describe your estimated arrival time, and be given instructions to which site you’re in.
Park on the side of the road overnight if you find the gate closed. Bring a headlight to search for reflective site signs.
There is a 2 night minimum on summer weekends, and all long weekends.
This is to decrease environmental degradation, and save volunteer and staff time and energy.
We’re a flat campground, with no more than a 4 minute walk, between 10-150 meters.

We will do our best to place 2 sites booked together beside each other.
3 or more sites constitutes a group booking and is charged a premium of 100% - please email us to arrange. Please carpool as we don't have a large parking lot.
Example: a walk in site is $20/night as part of a group, and a drive in site is $40/night as part of a group.
Each site is allowed 1 vehicle. Additional vehicles are $10/vehicle/night. Please add to your online booking, and tell staff upon arrival.

But we do take returnable drink containers - anything you drink from. It includes milk jugs. Please empty and rinse if possible. Please take your recycling home if possible.

We sell seasoned firewood for $20 or $10 wheelbarrow loads.
For sale between 3-9 pm. Pay with cash preferred, or we can add to your booking and bill the credit card on file.
We are a non-profit campground and firewood sales help support our volunteer costs.
Please purchase from us if you'd like a fire, rather than bringing your own.
Our campground has a 30 meter Riparian setback from the river, with a public trail.
There is an access trail leading from the campground to the public riverside trail. It is a 5 minute walk from the main office to river access.
The Mamquam River is glacier fed, very cold, fast moving and dangerous. Please use caution around the river.
Vancouver Coastal Health disallows drinking from the river.
MRAS IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CAMPER'S USE/EXPERIENCE AT THE RIVER.

As a non-profit we're mostly volunteer run.
Each year we interview volunteers for May-October, for live-on-site work exchanges. Volunteers are provided a campsite or vanlife experience, and compensation for food.
We love our volunteers!
