The Mamquam River Access Society (MRAS) has built the not-for-profit Mamquam River Campground on 7 acres of Crown land beside the Mamquam River in Squamish. Though we opened last summer for Canada’s 150th, development was by no means complete. The Mamquam River Campground is brand new so to speak. We’ve just begun to evolve and look forward to your patronage.
The site provides rustic camping with outhouses and garbage service. The campground does not have water so please bring your own (refills can be done close by). Our mandate is to keep it affordable.
We have created a sustainable public amenity that aims to provide affordable, year-round camping to recreation enthusiasts and other visitors to Squamish. Our community’s four local clubs, representing the internationally recognized “self-propelled” sports of paddling, mountain biking, climbing and windsports, have showed us overwhelming support.
MRAS is also supported by Sea to Sky Community Services and Plea Community Services societies, both of which continue to endorse our initiatives to provide employment opportunities for at-risk youth and for those with different abilities.
